Wearing of the green, ummm white...
Ok, St.Pat's day has come and gone, we've got lots of sunlight, but alas the warmth is only when you are behind glass. Spring is not quite here yet, but the snow is receding...slowly. I can see the color change in the trees, the leaf buds are getting bigger and in the higher elevations the willow catkins are looking fluffy white. Oh, and the red poles have flocked to our feeders by the dozens with a few black caps and boreals and grey jays for good measure. And...I have to admit watching our squirrel and even the little shrew have brought a smile to my face as they scamper across the icy crust of snow to munch on seeds the birds have scattered from the feeders. Spring may be tomorrow by the calendar, but the green hasn't arrived, the white is slow to melt and I'm getting anxious to go play in the rich brown dirt. My seed orders are arriving so I'll have to settle for seed starts until the ground becomes available.
We had a nice albeit short visit from Heather a few weeks ago. She was hoping to time her visit with the first born child of her good friend from college. Little Aidan didnt' go for that plan However and showed up a week after she left. Alexsis and I stopped by the hospital to see him, and got a bonus when we checked in with a co-worker and found that she had delivered baby Austin the same day. Beautiful little baby boys! Heather is back to her busy schedule down in Seattle again despite missing the birth of her new little godson.
Alexsis is still here, busy keeping things calm at the hospital in her security job. She left the book store for full time at the hospital for more money to get ready for her move to Seattle in a few months. Roomie Rachael is also getting excited about their move down. Don't know yet if all three with be able to get a bigger apartment, or just apartments in the same complex.
My relief is here, so must sign off. Hope this entry finds all who read it healty and safe.
